What's the secret for speaking confidence and increased fluency? IMMERSION!!! Start using your french in a natural way — you may be closer to spontaneous conversation than you think!

AFL holds special total immersion retreats in southern Indiana each year. Programs are currently being offered for students at the intermediate and advanced skill level. Participants sign a pledge to speak only French during the program.

The idea is to put away the phrasebook and really begin to communicate in French. Don't be intimidated by the thought of letting go of English for a few hours - the sessions are real confidence builders! Time flies as you move through a whirlwind of grammar workshops, active listening, French videos, games, skits, presentations, pronunciation exercises, and idiomatic expression lessons.
