You will be expected to have mastered the material in French 101 and 102 before entering this class.

You will continue to perfect your pronunciation of French and will be introduced to new phonetic symbols and sounds. Your ability to function in various settings will improve as you learn to order in a restaurant and ask for the price of something. You will learn to ask for directions, give directions to places inside of a building, express astonishment and unhappiness, complain, calm someone, reconcile with someone, insist, and ask for someone's opinion. You will learn to express frequency using une fois par, tous les, etc. The following grammatical concepts will be covered in French 103: the pronouns en, de + quantité, inversion of subject-verb, the pronouns of place y and en, prepositions and adverbs of place, ne...que, ne...plus, use of l'imparfait as opposed to le passé compose. You will also learn the responses moi aussi, moi non plus, moi si, and pas moi. Expressions of duration, the interrogative pronoun lequel, and the demonstrative pronouns (celui, celle etc.) will be presented. You will continue to expand your knowledge of French culture through the examination of various reading passages.

This class will cover Dossiers 7-9 of Reflets1.
